Cost Controller

We are looking for a Cost Controller / Assistant Plant Controller with a strong interest in manufacturing controlling and SAP CO, who is also IT‑minded and forward‑looking, eager to actively contribute to the digital and AI‑driven transformation of finance and controlling.

This role suits someone who enjoys working close to operations, understands standard costing concepts, and thrives in a collaborative, positive, and continuously improving team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as finance business partner to plant management and operations, translating operational performance into financial insights

• Support the Plant Controller during month‑end closing, forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range planning processes

• Calculate, maintain, and analyze standard costs (material, labor, overhead) and actual costs in SAP

• Perform cost variance analysis (price, quantity, usage, mix, and absorption variances) and support root‑cause analysis with operations

• Monitor and analyze production cost centers, activity rates, overhead absorption, and cost allocations

• Support product cost calculation / product cost estimates, updates of routings and BOM‑related cost impacts

• Drive process standardization, automation, and digitalization within controlling, including SAP and BI tools

• Actively contribute to AI and advanced analytics initiatives (predictive variance analysis, automated reporting, smart insights)

• Ensure data quality, compliance, and effective internal controls within the SAP controlling environment

Professional Experience & Knowledge

• Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or similar

• Experience in manufacturing controlling / cost controlling, preferably in an industrial environment is an advantage

IT & Digital Mindset

• Strong affinity with IT and digital tools (advanced Excel, ERP systems, BI tools, automation solutions); SAP CO knowledge is a strong advantage

• Comfortable working with data and motivated to leverage AI, analytics, and digital technologies to improve controlling insights

• Willingness to challenge existing processes and implement new, smarter ways of working
